AMIST Pension

You can read about our retirement income strategy via this summary that we have prepared.

If you have reached your ‘preservation age’ (see the table below) and permanently retired, changed jobs after reaching age 60, or turned 65, you can apply to set up an AMIST Pension account.

If you have reached your preservation age but haven’t met the other criteria, you can apply to set up a Transition to retirement AMIST Pension.

If you were born… Your preservation age is…
Prior to 1 July 1960 55 years
Between 1 July 1960 and 30 June 1961 56 years
Between 1 July 1961 and 30 June 1962 57 years
Between 1 July 1962 and 30 June 1963 58 years
Between 1 July 1963 and 30 June 1964 59 years
After 1 July 1964 60 years

There can be tax advantages associated with setting up either kind of pension, depending on your circumstances. We recommend that you call the AMIST Pension Hotline on 1800 255 521 and speak to a qualified financial adviser to learn how an AMIST pension could work for you.
